Welcome

The False Alarm Reduction Association (FARA) & The National Electronic Security Alliance (NESA) have developed this site to educate consumers about electronic security, fire entertainment and automation systems.

Understand the Options

The information in this site will give you the basics. A systems professional will help you determine what you need to serve your home or business.

Before You Buy

What kind of system? Security, fire, entertainment, controlled heating and lighting, and/or carbon monoxide detection.

Discuss what options fit your home and/or business and lifestyle.

If you are considering purchasing an alarm system, do your homework first! By taking a little time now, you can avoid potential problems later.

Avoid False Alarms

We believe the key to reducing false alarms is user and installer education. Together we can avoid false alarms.

After a False Alarm

When an alarm is activated, most systems will send a signal to a monitoring station. If the alarm is a mistake, it is important for the user to communicate with the monitoring station to make sure that no police dispatch request is made.
